Motorola gets new local head

Fran Foo | July 01, 2008

MOTOROLA Australia has tapped an internal executive to replace Spiros Nikolakopoulos as country manager.

Paul Blinkhorn will wear a third hat at Motorola - apart from running the Australian business, he will continue as Motorola Enterprise Mobility Australia and New Zealand vice-president and
vice-president of Asia-Pacific channels.

Mr Blinkhorn joined Symbol Technologies in November 2006 as managing director for Australia-New Zealand.

Motorola completed its acquisition of Symbol in January 2007.

Prior to joining Symbol, Mr Blinkhorn ran Palm's Asia-Pacific business. He also spent more than a decade at Olivetti and Hewlett-Packard/Compaq in various leadership roles.

It is understood that Mr Nikolakopoulos left Motorola yesterday.
